There is an indescribable pride in being able to do the crafts that build into my art direction. Even if I’m not the one in charge of other processes, being able to understand and connect with the people that help you in their technical language makes a project so much more meaningful in its finalization.

But this doesn’t just hold true with those working with me, but also with those that engage with my finished works. Acknowledging the backgrounds of all those who may interact with my work, I want to create films and designs that brings a light to someone’s eyes should they spot something of familiarity in my work. Like having a historian being able to pick out historically accurate motifs, or a seamstress pointing out the construction of a garment. I want to engage with these communities as much as I want them to engage with my works because I believe it's through authentic art direction, that make a work memorable for people.
